Hi all - New to the pod/thread but it caught my eye just because of the word Flow. I work in a business, focusing on sustainability. I would describe my work - when I am clear and able to really focus on it - as working to redesign business so that it can effectively and profitably meet the daunting challenges of our time: economic inequity, social injustice, and environmental degradation. In the context of our business, we are always challenged to measure the different things we are doing in the context of sustainability. I've been stumbling for a couple years over what I call the linearity trap...namely, a machinistic world view which says that X + Y = Z. Of course, many times X + Y does equal Z, but in the world of complex systems, that's usually not the case...and in a business, we are clearly dealing with complex systems. The illusion here is twofold. First, there is an illusion in the idea that X + Y equal or create Z. Second, there is the illusion that X or Y are the only factors influencing Z. So when we try to influence Z by manipulating X and Y, we are not often ineffective (not causing the result we want) and always inefficient (not using the right leverage points to cause the result we want). So recently the concept of flow and its place in the complex system appeared to me...or more likely, I was finally able to see it. Another example - imagine a heating system where you have a furnace in one room connected by a pipe through a wall to another room. The second room is heated by the furnace in the first room. In a typical business approach, we would measure the temperature in the second room and use that measurement to judge the effectiveness of the heating system. Imagine that the pipe gets clogged with something and so the heat is not flowing through to the second room effectively. When the temperature dropped, we would feel it and we would confirm our feeling by looking at the temperature. Using that as our sole data input (linear, note), we would look to see if the furnace was still working. If it was, we would likely stoke up the furnace. If that didn't work, we might try a new fuel source, or turn the furnace up higher, or call a repairman, or replace the furnace eventually. We might even plug in a space heater in the second room or build a fire in there on the floor. However, if we understood that a core design principle of the system was FLOW of heat through the pipe, we would instead be measuring the flow of heat through the pipe. When the temperature dropped, our first thought - after confirming the heat source was still functioning - would be to check for unimpeded flow. The insight here is that complex systems, living systems, thrive on flows - flows of energy, information, capital, resources as well as flows of emotive energy, such as love, compassion, caring. So how do we measure that? That's how I am coming to Flow. I checked out the Flow website and the Working for Good curriculum and see I have a bit of reading to do to catch up with all the specific definitional background for this discussion, but I welcome it. I found this site exploring the concept of flow as I am a graduate student and have used flow, though didn't know it by that name. I read Jane Roberts "Seth" books and then was for 14 years have listened to "Abe" channeled by Esther Hicks.

For me "Flow" is about being connected to source, and through my personal connection (or flow) it expands into all I touch, and all that I touch, touches. and so on and so on.....so it expands exponentially.

I must say I often am not in flow, but now getting close to my internship and thesis I became interested in the Psychology of mind (POM) which uses this concept, though possibly with a different name. In my search for trainings on therapy in this theory, focusing on our human potential and resiliency I ran across this site. My personal passion is to work with homeless men in my community and start with groups and then individual therapy. I am excited to find this forum to read what social change everyone is up to.

Right, I don't like Dubai. Here's what I have learned: In Dubai, they pay slave wages, permit crimes by the rich perpetuated on the poor to go unpunished, and now HALLIBURTON is moving there so it cannot be tracked, taxed or punished. Just what do you suggest I create to counter this evil? Thank you.

Flowing toward others can be of a great help to human kind, many people have so many tools that can be of help to others who are genuinely in need, there are so many machine,tools that are outdated in some developed countries that can be used for economic activities in some developing countries. What do i mean by this statement? Imagine your last Desktop computer pentium three you used, before you buy the new Laptop, instead of throwing it away, it can be useful to some boys like Samson in the develpoing economy like ours. Imagine your used Blender,Television, Game,Toys, Printers, UPS. All these that are daily thrown into waste being can be shipped to the developing world for empowerment.
Samson Ajayi does not grow up to know his father he and three other junior were raised by his mother on hawking of good at popular motor Garage, now Samson is of age he need to fend for himself after secondary school the mother does not have the means to send Samson for further education. Samson being a bright student has learn to use Microsoft Word,Excell, and can play araound with Computer he is seeking Admission to College or a University he need a sponsor. though Samson can sponsor himself if he as a computer he can be engaged in word processing for people at a fee but he will need a computer to be able to do this. Samson can be empowered if he can lay his hand on a computer even if it is pentium one system that are daily thrown away in Europe and America personally i dont believe in Handout but Samson can be helped.

Co-creating the Golden Age by 2012 by getting 15 Million intentions sound crazy....

You must be wondering what I am trying to do?

I understand how some of you feel. This is not normal. This is almost impossible.
You're right. Instead of mountain climbing and bungee jumping this is my
adventure of a lifetime. I like to do impossible things, maybe because I am
the spirit in this body and my infinite side wants to express itself in this finite existence.

I looked at different prophecies and inspirational messages from spiritual leaders
and it looks like the time has come and this is a very auspicious moment in the earth's
evolution and ours. This is inevitable.

Am i doing this project to make the prophecies happen? No. It's the other way
around. The prophets/spirit beings/other beings saw these happening in the future, they just didn't know (or they don't want to take away from us the excitement so they did not tell us) how it will unfold. What I am tryin to do is realize my dream, experience higher spiritual states
and have a spiritual adventure in the process.
Am i doing this alone? No, I want to share these experiences with spiritual beings like you.
Together we will succeed and I am 100% sure it will happen. The angels/enlightened beings in the other dimension had been intuitively pushing me all along. It cannot not happen, just remember that.

FLOW for my learning curve...

Day 1 of posting here. I am still reading the various posts but to orient myself, I looked up FLOW. It's an impulse or direction of energy particles or thought or masses between two (or more) that are connected. It's the progress of particles or impulses or waves from point A to point B. Flow has the connotation of being somewhat diretional. It is a progress of energy between two points. the points may have masses. The points are fixed and the fixedness of the points and their opposition produce the phenomena of flows. It's a change of position of particles in space. Any line of flow, whether contracting or lengthening, is called a flow. A common manifestation is seen in an electric light wire. Or there can be a flow of something happening to self; a flow of doing something to another; or doing things to others; or self doing something to self.

I coach acting and now I see how I can apply flows to help others be aware of flowing.

It's fun to just go for a walk - like in Manhattan and watch flows. i saw a guy crossing the street and he accidentally tripped a bit and spilled his coffee on someone. Some may think that Oh...NY I bet he was rough on the guy for spilling. No. The man apologized, asked if he
could pay for the laundry, the "victim" said no, but thanks for asking, it's ok and just understood. It was an accurate observation of how truly good people are in NY.

I like the idea of multi tasking in learning about flows for my curve here I am facing. If I am aware that I am flowing particles fo a good purpose, I get more done and want to do more.

I wanted to give you all a very important tip about hiring a bookkeeper.

I've run into some people who think it is very important to pay as little as possible for bookkeeping. I had a recent experience with one of my clients that proves this theory to be false.

Upon taking over for the company's previous bookkeeper, I took a close look at the financial reports for the prior year. I noticed some out-points and took a closer look. It turned out that the past bookkeeper had been entering transfers into Quick Books, but she hadn't been doing it correctly. As a result, the company's income was erroneously reported at over $60,000 more than what it truly was. I was astounded by this and proceeded to correct it. I then had his prior year tax return redone. The total tax due was reduced by over $11,000.

So, you see, it is worth every penny to hire a competent bookkeeper who really knows what they are doing! It isn't worth paying thousands in taxes to save a few hundred in bookkeeping costs. Your company finances are extremely important to have in good order. Remember that! :D

by what just took place at Virginia Tech. I feel strongly that this is a
wake-up call. I want to do something about it and I'm sure you do too.

of YouTube. We all want to help, this is a way to get the real issue more
widely understood.

Skydancer, you are right on the money! The energy to attack is there, easy to come by... perhaps even hardwired into our minds... where is the energy to support and what are its sources... is it also hardwired, but in need of the right juice to let it FLOW? I have a software company, and everyday we answer many questions from our customers. It is amazing how often someone will come in with guns blazing, and once they discover that there is a real live human being on the other end of the "send" button, they are so surprised and pleased... they calm down. They behave entirely differently. But still there is so much "crap" mail that feels like an attack... and it dulls my senses, and sometimes all that vulgarity, anger and hostility blurs my ability to respond to the real people who I know are out there and are looking for my advice and care. Personally I find that the whole Zaadz thing restores my faith in humanity enough to answer my email again... which is worthwhile, in and of itself. I hope it stays the supportive environment that it is, where we touchy-feely types can restore ourselves before we go back "out there." :-) So some of the support is just here, by virtue of you reading these little posts, visiting our little profiles, and thinking about what we all have to offer each other and the world. Telling others outside of Zaadz (or even inside of Zaadz) about who does what... It can be as simple as that. --Catherine--*
